Setting up myBCIT email
This section provides step-by-step instruction on how to configure your myBCIT email settings. myBCIT email is primarily used for
- communication with instructors and school
- registration on external sites or tools where student services are available.
To prepare your myBCIT email for the program, it's important to configure both email forwarding and signature.
Set Up Forwarding
By default, to check for new emails, you need to visit myBCIT site each time, which is not only time consuming, but also increases the risk of missing important messages. Therefore, setting up forwarding to an email account you use on your device is highly recommended.

Login to myBCIT.

Click My Mail.

Click Setting.

Click Filters.

Click + under Filters section.

Set up forwarding.
i. In the Filter Name box, give a name to your filter (example: Forwarding).
ii. Select All messages under For incoming mail.
iii. Click on the drop-down menu under ...execute the following actions, and Select Redirect message to.
iv. In the text-input field to the right, enter the destination email address where you want incoming emails to be forwarded.
Note
If you want to forward to more than 1 email address, click on the + to add another email.

Click save.
Set up signature
When sending emails to instructors or school, you need to include your name, student ID, program, and set name. This can be tedious to enter each time and easy to forget. To avoid this, setting up a signature that automatically adds the necessary information at the bottom of your emails is also strongly recommended.

Click Identities.

Click your myBCIT email address.

Set up Signature.

The example of email signature for myBCIT email:
FirstName LastName Your Program (Example: CST Diploma) A########(Your studentID), Term 1, Set# (Your set) -
